53 Ladies competed in theCLCGA Championships at Perranporth. The conditions were cool with an easterly wind for the 36 hole qualifying. The scoring was mixed and the CSS as 75 ” reductions only” for the around and 75 for the pm round. Perranporth had 11 players and all of them moved onto the Matchplay rounds.
The top qualifier was Danielle Price with rounds of 78 & 75 gross total of 153, hotly followed by last year’s CLCGA Champion Megan Giles with rounds of 78 & 76 gross total of 154. Olivia Trewhela and Laura Andrew competed the top four qualifiers with rounds of 78 & 79 and 77 & 80 respectively for a gross totals of 157.
The Western Morning News Cup for an aggregate of the four best gross 36 holes score for a club was won by Perranporth Golf Club with a total of 642. Second place was taken by St Mellion.
Friday 12the April saw the start of the Matchplay knockout. The weather had started quite calm but cool. The wind picked up a little and the matches were hotly contested. In the 1st round of the CLCGA Championships there wins for Danielle Price, Jan Sargeant, Lauren Hulston, Laura Andrew, Olivia Trewhela, Caroline Kendall, Kira Barnes and Megan Giles.
In the CLCGA Plate there were 1st round wins for Angie Chapman, Abi Crosswood, Jackie Mallett, Maisie Dessert, Cath Hopkins, Anna Sendall, Vicky Lee Comyn and Dawn Emmerson.
In the Championships afternoon matches there were wins Danielle Price, Laura Andrew, Olivia Trewhela and Megan Giles setting up two very competitive Semi Finals.
In the Advanced Plate for 1st round losers in the Championships there were wins for Jan Harrison, Victoria Pawley, Nikki Hodge and Louisa McCartney
In the Plate competition there were afternoon wins for Angie Chapman, Maisie Drewett, Cath Hopkins and Dawn Emmerson. Dawn had to play to the 21st hole to secure her win.

The golf has been very good with a couple of matches down the 19th and one going to the 21st.
Thanks to the rules officials Steve Ashby, Peter Buchanan and Pat Crowsen who have kept everyone on the straight and narrow.
